This TDP Regime Threatens Victims Of Injustice With Court Cases

YSR Congress party (YSRCP) Chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy   - Sakshi Post

Tamarakhandi, Vizianagaram district: Today, my Padayatra entered Parvathipuram constituency from Saluru. In every single constituency that I have seen so far, while there has been no sign of development, there has been plenty of discrimination everywhere. Villagers of Thoorumamamidi came and met me. They told me that after the TDP government came to power, 97 people stopped getting their pensions. I was pained to learn that they had to go to court to get their pensions restored. Despite being eligible for welfare schemes, why should people go to court to secure them? Is it not a matter of shame for the government for people to take to legal recourse against it, pointing a finger at it saying that the government itself is tormenting them? Was there a single such complaint of denial of benefits of welfare schemes—houses, ration cards, or pensions during my father, the late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s period?

Women belonging to the Polamamba DWCRA group had the same story to tell. They said they were deceived by Chandrababu Naidu‘s promise of loan waivers. With interest amount compounded, their loans became a huge burden. If they express their inability to pay, they are being threatened with court cases, they lamented. They wondered why victims of injustice should be punished with court cases against them! In the village of Venkatabhairipuram alone, there are apparently nine Hindi Pandits. For four years they have been eagerly waiting for the DSC exam to be held and have spent thousands of rupees on coaching for TET exams and DSC. They were highly disappointed that after promising to hold the exam on several occasions, the entire schedule of filling up posts is being done in a half-baked manner nominally. Chandrababu Naidu had promised to fill up these posts every year after the TDP comes to power. For four years he did not bother and just as elections are bearing down upon the state, filling up a few vacancies on token basis is nothing but deception of unemployed youth, they pointed out.

Villagers of D. Sirlam, Boggamdoravalasa and Geddaluppi told me that people of 30 villages have been put to suffering due to the absence of a bridge on Suvarnamukhi river. They regretted that whether it was an emergency or day to day matter of children going to school, they found it extremely difficult. Chandrababu, who promised to build the Geddaluppi bridge after coming to power, forgot all about it. There has been no progress in four and a half years, they lamented. What is worse is that as my Padayatra began to approach these villages, they pretended to work bringing in a JCB, the villagers said. They took me to the riverside and showed this farce to me.

I have a question for the chief minister— is it not injustice to fill up less than one third of the 23,000 vacancies and not conduct a proper DSC to fill up all posts? Is this not aimed at watering down the government school system and encouraging your proxies in the corporate education sector?
