TRS Leaders Lobby For Ministerial Berths In Telangana Cabinet

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao - Sakshi Post

Karimnagar: One month has passed since winning the elections but TRS supremo KCR has not made any concrete statements regarding the Cabinet. Ministers from the past Cabinet and senior leaders from the party are in the race to make it into the cabinet. From the combined Karimnagar district, there is a buzz that Etela Rajender will be a part of the cabinet again. Another ministerial berth is also reportedly confirmed for the district.

However, three MLAs from the district are pinning their hopes on being a minister. Dharmapuri MLA Koppula Eshwar, who got elected as an MLA six times, and was a chief whip in the last term is expecting for a berth in the cabinet, under the SC category. Korutla MLA kalvakuntla Vidyasagar Rao, and three times MLA, and the current representative of Karimnagar Gangula Kamalakar have also sought a place in the cabinet. Gangula has pinned high hopes on turning a Minister as he is from the BC community and has won from Karimnagar constituency, which is very close to KCR.

KCR chalking out a plan:

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, is choosing MLAs into the cabinet based on their community and seniority, it is learned. Three positions in the cabinet are certain for representatives from the district, it is being said. TRS working president KTR may not be given preference in the cabinet list, it is being said.

Vodithela Satish Babu, who was appointed as the parliamentary secretary is expected to make it into the cabinet. If the community and district become hurdles in choosing ministers, then two ministerial positions, Speaker and parliamentary secretary positions can be given to the leaders from the district. This way four MLAs from the district will hold key positions in the government. As KCR’s word is final in the party many MLAs with the hopes of becoming a minister are busy impressing CM KCR.
