YSRCP MP Midhun Reddy Reminds Naidu of his Mad Tughlaq Act Comment on Demonetisation

 - Sakshi Post

Vijayawada: YSR Congress MP Midhun Reddy called out the flip-flops of TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu on the demonetisation exercise and the withdrawal of Rs 2,000 denomination currency note when the latter sought to take credit for the BJP-led government’s decision.

During his visit to Anakapalli on Saturday, the TDP leader had said that he had suggested the Central government withdraw the Rs 2,000 currency note as corrupt politicians were stashing it for use during elections.

Naidu had welcomed the demonetisation move when it was announced on November 8, 2016 and three years later, he criticised the Centre’s decision and called it a "mad Tughlaq act".

"They scrapped Rs 1,000 currency notes but brought in Rs 2,000 notes. How will corruption end?" Naidu asked.

Lok Sabha member Midhun said Naidu earlier flayed Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his demonetisation exercise and is now taking credit for the Centre’s decision. He called the TDP leader’s claim ridiculous and said Naidu is now praising Modi as his party is seeking an alliance with the BJP ahead of General elections.

Midhun Reddy also said that in his criticism of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the TDP leader has stooped so low that he has started commenting on the clothing and footwear of the chief minister.

He questioned Naidu if he was paying the rent to businessman Lingamaneni Ramesh for sharing his accommodation. The YSRCP leader added that even if the TDP joins hands with Pawan Kalyan-led Jana Sena, the combination would not impact the prospects of the ruling party, because the voters have lost trust in them.
