AP to Hyderabad Traffic Heavy After Sankranti; NH-65 Diversions Announced

 - Sakshi Post

Sankranti travel rush continues to impact major routes leading into Hyderabad, as thousands of people return from Andhra Pradesh after the festival break. The surge in vehicles has put additional pressure on the already busy NH-65, where widening works are in progress.

To ease congestion and maintain a steady flow of traffic, authorities have introduced alternative routes for incoming vehicles. Motorists traveling from Guntur towards Hyderabad are being guided through interior stretches such as Miryalaguda–Haliya–Chintapalli–Mall, and another corridor covering Macherla–Sagar–Peddavura–Chintapalli–Mall.

Similarly, vehicles from Vijayawada are being redirected via Kodad–Mall before entering Hyderabad, helping reduce blockage on the main highway.

Officials added that if heavy bottlenecks build up on NH-65, traffic will be shifted from Chityala towards Bhongir, providing an additional bypass to manage the load.

With the festive return journey reaching its peak, commuters are advised to follow traffic updates and opt for diversion routes to avoid long delays.
