November 2025 School Holidays: Check State-Wise List and Dates

While the month is expected to have fewer holidays compared to October, students and parents can't wait to find out what their school holiday schedule is in November 2025. There are a few dates in the month that they need to circle in their calendar.

Major School Holidays in November 2025

• November 1: Kannada Rajyotsava - Karnataka will observe its Formation Day and will declare a holiday for schools, colleges, and state government offices.
• November 5: Guru Nanak Jayanti - The Sikh festival falls on the birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. Schools are likely to be closed in various states like Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal, Delhi, Punjab, and Haryana on the day.
• November 14: Children's Day - Most of the schools will function, yet they will conduct special programmes, cultural shows, and fun activities to mark Jawaharlal Nehru's birth anniversary.
• November 24: Guru Tegh Bahadur's Martyrdom Day - Holiday announced for schools in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana to mark the martyrdom of the ninth Sikh Guru.

Regional Festivals and Holidays

• Nongkrem Dance Festival (November 6) -The Khasi people of Meghalaya mark this as a harvest festival, and schools in the area may be closed to mark the occasion.
• Wangala Festival (November 7) - The Garo tribe in Meghalaya will celebrate this major harvest festival, and schools will be closed on this day.
• Kanakadasa Jayanti (November 8) - Karnataka will observe the birth anniversary of poet-saint Kanakadasa, and schools in the state may be closed for the day. Planning Ahead School students and parents are encouraged to check the school's academic calendar in advance to avoid disruptions. Some schools may operate on a five-day week while others may hold full or half-day classes on Saturdays. November 2025 will be a month peppered with cultural, regional, and national observances.
