Schools and Colleges Holiday in Dharwad, Hubbali, on August 19, Tuesday Due To Heavy Rains

With incessant rainfall continuing across Dharwad district for the past several days, Deputy Commissioner Divya Prabhu has declared a holiday for all educational institutions on Monday, August 19.

The order covers Anganwadi centres, primary and high schools, as well as pre-university colleges throughout the district. Officials said the move was taken as a precaution to safeguard students from difficulties and potential risks caused by the persistent downpour.

To ensure that the academic calendar does not suffer, the Deputy Commissioner has directed the Deputy Director of the Department of School Education to compensate for the lost day by holding classes on an upcoming general holiday.

Authorities are keeping a close watch on the situation as heavy rains continue to disrupt normal life in parts of the district.
