Student Burnt Alive in Bapatla, Police Rule Out Political Motive Behind Murder

Bapatla : A day after a Class 10 student was burnt alive allegedly by a man for confronting him for harassing his sister, Bapatla SP Vakul Jindal said it was a planned murder and there is no political motive behind it. The accused persons have been booked under murder and POCSO Act cases since the harassed girl is a minor.
Briefing the media persons, the police officer said the accused was harassing the sister of deceased 15-year-old Amarnath by making her phone calls and messages. When Amarnath told his family about the harassing behaviour of accused Venkateswar Reddy to his family, the accused got enraged and planned to kill Amarnath, the police official said, adding three accomplices Gopi Reddy, Veera Babu and Sambi Reddy helped Venkateswar Reddy to murder the student.
SP Vakul Jindal said they have arrested three accused persons including Venkateswar Reddy in the case. He said Sambi Reddy is on the run and police have launched a manhunt to nab the fourth accused in the Amarnath murder case.
The accused persons intercepted Amarnath while was returning from tuition class. They allegedly poured petrol on him and set him to fire. The seriously injured Amarnath named three people including Venkateswar Reddy while he was being shifted to the hospital in an ambulance.
