Guntur: Chandrababu In Trouble For Fake Propaganda Of N440K Variant

Cases Filed Against Chandrababu In Guntur Over Fake Propaganda On N440K Variant In Guntur - Sakshi Post

GUNTUR: Cases were filed against Opposition leader and TDP Chief N Chandrababu has been booked in Guntur town and Narasaraopet in Guntur district on Tuesday, for fake propaganda over the N440K COVID-19 variant spread in the State.

A lawyer named Pachala Anil Kumar of Guntur lodged a complaint at the Arandalpet police station and lawyer Rapolu Srinivasa Rao lodged a complaint at the Narasaraopet Two Town police station against Chandrababu's remarks that the N440K variant of the Covid-19 virus had originated and was spreading from the state.

Anil Kumar's complaint was registered under CC No. 230/2021 under Sections 188, 501 (1) b, 505 (2) of the IPC and Section 54 of the Disaster Management Act-2005. Arandalpet CI Dasari Naresh Kumar registered an FIR while Narasaraopet CI Krishnaiah said that a case has been registered against the former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and TDP state president Kinjarapu Atchennaidu based on Srinivasa Rao's complaint.

In their complaints, the lawyers said that the statements made by Chandrababu and TDP representatives about the N440K variant which spreading the coronavirus was 10–15 times more dangerous. These statements published in newspapers and on TV channels were terrorizing the public. Due to this misinformation, COVID patients are at increased risk of death as such misinformation was causing mental stress, they said in their complaint.

CCMB has already stated that the N440K variant virus was not dangerous. Such comments by TDP leaders are damaging the morale of the government machinery which is taking all measures to curb the dreaded virus they said. About vaccination, although the Centre has said that, the power to allocate vaccines is entirely in its hands; these conspiracies are being hatched to provoke people and disrupt the peace by spreading false propaganda against the state government. They also said that articles with fake news about the number of bodies being cremated in cemeteries are being published in pro-TDP newspapers.
