Guntur Court Granted Bail to YSRCP Leader and Former Minister Ambati Rambabu

Court Dismissed Police Custody Petition

A Guntur court has granted bail to former minister and Guntur district YSR Congress Party president Ambati Rambabu in connection with the 2023 Sankranti lucky draw case. The court also dismissed the police custody petition filed against him, providing relief to the senior YSRCP leader.

Ambati Rambabu has been lodged in Rajahmundry Central Jail since January 31 in connection with multiple cases registered against him. Earlier, when he was expected to secure release in one case, authorities issued a PT warrant in another case related to Sankranti celebrations organized by him in the past, based on a complaint filed by a Jana Sena Party leader.

In a separate case registered by Pattabhipuram police, alleging that Ambati Rambabu had threatened officials during a medical agitation, Guntur Excise Court judge B. Mary Saradhanamma granted him bail on Wednesday (February 11).

With the latest development, the Guntur court has now granted bail to Ambati Rambabu in the Sankranti lucky draw case as well, paving the way for his release, subject to legal procedures and conditions imposed by the court.
