Chintamani: A man allegedly killed his lover and later surrendered in the local police station with her head. The man killed her for suspecting that she was in a relationship with another man. The incident took place at Chikkaballapura in Kancharlapalli, Karnataka on Thursday. The accused Azeez (27) runs a mobile shop at Gaffar Khan street, Srinivasapuram.

Azeez who was already married, got into a relationship with Roshan Khanam (24). Azeez suspected that Khanam also got into another relationship with a boy and planned to kill her. On Thursday, Azeez took Khanam to Chintamani on the pretext of taking her to the Dargah there. After finishing their prayers, he took her to a shed in the outskirts of the village. There he slaughtered Khanam's head with an axe. Later, he came to the Srinivasapuram police station along with her head and surrendered.

In a similar incident some time ago, an extra-marital relationship led to a man's death. The accused killed his cousin with a sickle for having an extramarital affair with his wife. The incident happened on Sunday at Narayanapuram in Kuravi Mandal, Mahabubabad district.

According to eye-witnesses and police, Banothu Bhadru married Nagamani and both are from Kotha Thanda. Bhadru's cousin Maloth Linganna (25) got involved in an extramarital relationship with Nagamani. Bhadru learned of the matter and decided to kill him. On Sunday during Ganesh immersion, Bhadru came to know that Linganna was in the crowd. He knocked him down with a sickle and fled the scene.

Local villagers found Linganna injured and shifted him to Manukota area hospital on a bike. There he succumbed to severe head injuries. Bhadru surrendered to the police.
