Will Chandrababu Vacate His Illegally Constructed Residence In Undavalli?

Will Chandrababu Vacate His Illegally Constructed Residence In Undavalli? - Sakshi Post

Is Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu contemplating moving out of his Undavalli residence before the bulldozers make their way to the gates? The TDP chief held a meeting at his residence in Undavalli with some of his close aides and party leaders on Wednesday even as the demolition of the illegally constructed Praja Vedika next door was taking place. Incidentally, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had pointed out to district collectors on Tuesday that the TDP chief was living in an illegally constructed house, built in violation of all norms and regulations right next to Praja Vedika.

It must be pointed out that Praja vedika, built as a conference hall for the Chandrababu government as well as TDP meetings and the former chief minister's residence next door flouted a number of rules including the River Conservation Act and NGT guidelines. It is said that Chandrababu is a worried man because YS Jagan had categorically stated that all illegal constructions would be demolished regardless of the rank or stature of the individual involved.

The TDP chief and his party leaders find themselves in a catch-22 situation. If they oppose the demolitions, it would mean that they are encouraging illegal constructions. If they stay mum, it would suggest that they were clearly in the wrong, though that may be the bitter truth.

While some of Chandrababu's aides and leaders from his party are said to have told him that it would be better to move out rather than wait for his eviction from the Undavalli house, others reportedly suggested that he should not succumb to pressure on this count. However, it is believed that the majority opinion veered around to the TDP chief moving out of his Undavalli residence considering the fact that YS Jagan had made it amply clear that he would not spare anyone.

The fact that Andhra Pradesh High court also gave its nod to go ahead with the demolition of Praja Vedika further strengthens the possibility of Chandrababu's Undavalli's house being the next target for demolition since it is an illegally constructed one as chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy pointed out.
