Chandrababu’s Remarks On Chief Secretary: AP IAS Officers To Hold Meeting

AP IAS Officers To Hold Meeting - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: It is learnt that the Andhra Pradesh IAS officers association is scheduled to meet on Tuesday evening to discuss the disparaging comments made by Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on state chief secretary LV Subramanyam. Chandrababu’s criticism of the chief secretary has become a talking point in political circles as well as among the intelligentsia.

It may be recalled that the Election Commission of India had replaced the chief secretary of Andhra Pradesh and three other IPS officers, among others. The new chief secretary LV Subrahmanyam came in the place of Anil Chandra Punetha following Election Commission’s orders.

This was after the Andhra Pradesh government went to court against the Election Commission of India’s decision to transfer 3 IPS officers including DG intelligence, AB Venkateswara Rao.

Following the transfer of the chief secretary, and the appointment of LV Subramanyam, Chandrababu Naidu made some highly controversial comments about the new incumbent, calling him a co-accused and covert which were reported by the media.

Many retired IAS officials condemned his remarks against the chief secretary and demanded an apology. They also brought the matter to the notice of the governor, as also the Election Commission and demanded strict action against Chandrababu Naidu.

The Tuesday evening meeting being held by IAS officers of Andhra Pradesh assumes significance in the context of these developments.
