KCR’s Five-Day Chandiyagam At Erravelli Farmhouse Siddipet

Siddipet: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is all set to perform a five-day 'Yagam' (havan) to seek the blessing of Goddess Chandi (Durga) for the welfare of the people from today, Monday.

The five-day 'Chaturveda Paraspara Sahasra Maha Chandi Yagam' would began at 11 AM at his farmhouse at Erravelli in Siddipet. MPs, MLAs, MLCs and ZP Chairmen have been invited to the event,. Ruling TRS sources have said that the 'Yagam' "is to seek the blessings of goddess Chandi (Durga) for the welfare of the people".

"Wherever this Yagam is performed, there would not be any distress, untimely deaths and farmers will be blessed with abundant crops. As many as 250 priests including those from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka, have already reached the venue to conduct the yagam for which 27 ‘homa gundams’ have been set-up in three ‘Yagashalas’.

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, along with his wife Shobha Rao, will perform the five-day Chaturveda Paraspara Maharudra Sahasra Chandiyagam.

The ritual would commence with the ‘Gopuja’ in the presence of the head of the Visakha Sarada Peetham Sri Sri Sri Swaroopanandendrasaraswati. Vedic priests from Sringeri Peetham in Karnataka, Madugula Manikya Somayajulu, Narendra Kape, Phani Shanshanka Sharma, and Bhadrakali Venu are participating in this event which will conclude with the final offerings in the fire called the 'Purnahuti ' on January 25, 2019.
