Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Senior YSRCP Leader and Tirupati MP Varaprasad Rao - Sakshi Post

Senior YSRCP Leader and Tirupati MP, Varaprasad Rao cited Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's threat to the Nayee Brahmin community and his warning to them as a latest instance of the chief minister's arrogance towards BCs, SCs and STs. He recalled how Chandrababu had insulted Dalits by questioning as to who wishes to be born as an SC. Similarly, when fishermen reminded him of his election promise stating that they would be included into the SC/ST categories, he threatened them saying I will finish you.

Varaprasad recalled that in asking for the implementation of minimum wages, Nayee Brahmins had not made any extraordinary demand. As a former IAS officer, who had served in the government as Labour Commissioner, he said that the onus lies with the government when it comes to implementing minimum wages. It is unbecoming of a chief minister to speak disparagingly of the backward communities and threaten them in the way that Chandrababu did. The YSRCP MP pointed out that TDP ministers were no different. Aadi Narayan Reddy had also exhibited similar arrogance while Varla Ramaiah, a former police officer called a Dalit by his caste and the chief minister did not so much as reprimand him for his despicable behaviour. It is clear that the TDP wants votes of BCs, SCs and STs but is not interested in their welfare. Varaprasad added that it has never occured to Chandrababu Naidu as to why SCs, STs and BCs are in a miserable state everywhere. The thought of empowering them did not cross his mind, he said.

Referring to AP chief minister's recent visit to Delhi, it was announced that he would declare war on the Central government. And yet after his return from the NITI Aayog summit did not refer to a single point among the several which he proposed to raise. This suggests that he has gone in for a truce with BJP rather than declare war on the Centre.

Chandrababu Naidu repeatedly says that the BJP could harm him. Varaprasad said that corruption is at the root of this fear because he had never claimed that he was innocent and therefore not afraid. Perhaps the consequences of notes for votes case haunt him.

People have not forgotten how Chandrababu Naidu became the chief minister through the backdoor after stabbing NTR in the back. In fact he was also responsible for the legendary actor-turned-politician's death.

Chandrababu Naidu's flip-flops in politics are legion. In 1998, he went in for a pact with the BJP, but was swept away by the Congress wave led by the late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy in 2004. Chandrababu  severed his ties with the BJP only to go in for a tie-up again in 2014.

The AP CM has now begun criticising the BJP, which is a repeat of what he did in 2004. The senior YSRCP leader asserted that it must be borne in mind that Chandrababu Naidu has never won on his own steam. He rode the BJP-Jana Sena wave in 2014 coming to power after winning with a slender margin.

The Tirupathi MP pointed out that Chandrababu Naidu bought over 23 MLAs of YSRCP in the most unabashed manner and made four of them ministers. Further, he added that as per the AP Reorganisation Act of 2014, Polavaram was to be a central project, but the AP CM insisted on taking it under his wing purely for the sake of corruption. It is shameful that beyond 50% work on this project had not been completed though Chandrababu Naidu boasts that A stands for Amaravati and P For Polavaram in AP.

Varaprasad pointed out that incidently, not a single permanent building stands in Amaravati. He concluded by saying that Chandrababu Naidu was incompetent to be chief minister in the light of his unbridled corruption and will be shown the door by the masses of Andhra Pradesh soon in the upcoming elections.
