November 12 School Holiday: Schools Shut in These States!

Several Indian states have declared schools closed on Wednesday, 12 November 2025, due to regional bye-elections and local festivals. Parents and students are advised to check with their schools for updates and class schedules.
In Bihar, many schools will not hold regular classes tomorrow as they are being used as polling centres for the ongoing assembly bye-elections. The closure aims to ease logistics and ensure smooth voting and counting processes.
In Telangana, schools in Hyderabad and surrounding areas remain shut due to the high-profile Jubilee Hills Assembly by-poll, where voting activities are underway. The state government has also declared facilities non-academic to minimise disruption.
Meanwhile in Delhi-NCR, schools are not fully closed but continue in hybrid mode under GRAP Stage 3 pollution restrictions, with classes for students up to Class 5 being held partly online or on alternate days.
Parents should stay alert for notices from their schools regarding any extended closures or further changes to the academic schedule. For now the holiday applies specifically to the states directly affected by polling or events. Students elsewhere are expected to attend regular classes unless notified otherwise.
Schools in Andhra Pradesh will have a relatively light holiday schedule this November. The state has confirmed a total of six holiday days for school students in November, mainly comprising Sundays and second Saturdays.
