TADEPALLI: The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Plenary session will be held on July 8 and 9 at Guntur. As per party sources, the event will be held at a suitable place between Guntur and Vijayawada.

State Government Advisor and YSRCP State Secretary Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy had mentioned that the YSRCP Plenary will be held on July 8. Meanwhile, the district presidents and regional coordinators have been entrusted with the responsibility of strengthening the party right from the booth level to the state level.

The date of July 8 for the Plenary session was chosen as it marks Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy's birth anniversary. Another milestone is that the YSRCP and YS Jagan-led government has completed three years in power. The Plenary is being conducted after five years since the last one was held in 2017. Conducting the plenary was not possible in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID pandemic. All efforts are being made to organize it on a grand scale and senior leaders to the ground level party cadre are sparing no efforts to make it a success.

YSRCP National General Secretary and Rajya Sabha member V Vijayasai Reddy conducted a teleconference with party MLAs, MPs Assembly constituency in-charges, district presidents, and coordinators on Wednesday. He said that the YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had decided to hold the Plenary session on July 8 and 9 in a convenient place between Vijayawada-Guntur to mark the birth anniversary of Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy.

He said that we are setting up Plenary Management Committees for the convenience of party leaders, activists, and guests attending the Plenary. He said the two-day Plenary session would begin on July 8 and would continue till the evening of July 9. It was the Chief Minister’s main endeavour keeping in mind the upcoming elections in 2024, that we should work collectively to face the elections effectively and the Chief Minister has asked the party leaders to put aside any sort of differences and move forward in a unified manner, he said.

Vijayasai Reddy said those who are loyal to the party in accordance with party rules and regulations would be given a place in the party's village, mandal, district, and state committees.  The MP said that there would be a 50 percent reservation for women and adequate representation for SC, ST, BC, and minorities while constituting the committees. Keeping this factor in mind the Chief Minister has desired that the party MLAs and constituency in-charges should nominate those who will work for the strengthening of the party locally. The names should be sent to the party headquarters by June 10 and the district presidents should organize with party MLAs and coordinators to convene a meeting of party committees to prepare a plan of action. The appointment of the new committees would be announced at the party plenary,he said. The names for the Booth Committees should also be sent after visiting the  Secretariats.
