Palnadu Road Accident Kills Six, 10 Injured

At least six people were killed and 20 others injured after a minivan collided with a truck. The accident took place in Rentachintala village of Andhra Pradesh's Palnadu district on Monday. The injured were immediately shifted to Gurzala government hospital in Narasaropet. The deceased were identified as Narayanapuram Rosham, Mukkena Ramana, Annvarapu Kotamma, Kurisetty Ramadevi, Peddarapu Laxminarayana, Pulipadu Koteshwarama. The condition of 12 is said to be serious. According to the police, as many as 39 passengers were travelling in the minivan at the time of the accident. They went to Srisailam and were returning to their hometown. The driver seemed to have dozed off and lost control over the vehicle resulting in the mishap.

Gurjala Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Jayram said that "A serious road accident took place in the Palnadu district. Six people were killed when minivan hit a parked truck. Another 10 sustained serious injuries. Upon receiving the information, the police went to the spot and carried out rescue operations."
