Madhya Pradesh: A disappointed thief poured out his anger in a note in which he called the homeowner 'Kanjoos' which means miserly. This incident took place in  Adarsh Nagar of Shajapur district a week ago, when the thief had to leave the house empty-handed after spending the entire night there.

After the failed robbery, the frustrated thief left a note for homeowner Parvesh Soni, a government engineer in Madhya Pradesh. "Bahut kanjoos hai rey tu, khidki todne ki mehnat bhi nahi mili, raat kharab ho gayi (You are a miser, I did not even get a reward for breaking in through the window, my night turned out to be bad)," the note read.

According to reports, Soni who works in the rural engineering department was not at his residence at the time of the failed robbery. His house is next to that of a judge and a joint collector in Adarsh Nageen Nagar.

As per reports, the thief's note was founded by Soni's servant the next day morning after the robbery. The servants alerted the police. On arrival at the crime scene, the police found that all the cupboards and closets had been forcefully opened. Clothes and other daily use items were left scattered around. Soni's dairy which was on a small coffee table was left open on the page with the thief's note.

Reports also said that Soni is out of station on some professional assignment. However, the incident has been reported to him and a complaint has been filed on his behalf at Shajapur's Kotwali police station, SP Pankaj Shrivastav said to daily.

According to police, the case is under investigation and they are scanning all the surveillance camera footage to find clues. The thief's note has been sent to a handwriting expert.

Another similar kind of incident was reported in Hyderabad in November, where  a thief apologised to Goddess Durga before stealing the idol's crown in Durga Bhavani temple. On investigation, a security camera footage of the temple showed the thief holding his ears before committing the crime.
