Hyderabad Heatwave Kills  Tourists From Russia, Odisha

Hyderabad: A Russian national who played a character in Megastar Chiranjeevi’s upcoming movie Sye Raa passed away on Tuesday after he fell unconscious due to sunstroke. The incident came to light on Thursday after police traced his whereabouts.

The police identified the deceased as Alexander (38) who came to Hyderabad on a tourist visa in March. On Tuesday, he was found lying on a road unconscious at DLF building in Gachibowli, and police immediately shifted him to Kondapur area hospital. As per the instructions of the doctors there, he was shifted to Gandhi Hospital where he died undergoing treatment on Tuesday evening.

Based on the pictures on his personal camera, police established that he had participated in Sye Raa movie shooting, playing a small role, on May 4 and May 5. Alexander who stayed in a hotel in Gachibowli, vacated it on May 10. Locals said he was seen walking in the area.

Police confirmed that he died due to sun stroke and information was shared with deceased’s friend in Goa, Borez. Postmortem will be conducted after Borez comes to Hyderabad to claim the body. A case has been filed and the investigation is on.

Meanwhile a day after the Russian national collapsed and died of a suspected heat stroke, a woman tourist from Odisha passed away in a similar way on Wednesday.

Madhumita and her husband Prashanth Kumar who had come to the city went for a tour of the Ramoji Film City. Madhumita apparently had biriyani for dinner after which she complained of nausea and collapsed. She was rushed to a nearby hospital by the hotel staff, where she was declared brought dead. Afzalgunj police have registered a case of suspicious death under section 175 of CrPC and sent the body for post mortem

Heat wave till Sunday

The IMD issued warning on Thursday that heat wave conditions will continue across most districts in the state till Sunday. There is no forecast of any thundershowers and the weather will continue to be dry.
