Hyderabad: Women Gets Life Sentence For Husband’s Murder

Hyderabad: A 28-year-old woman from Kushaiguda has been convicted life imprisonment by a city court on Friday for killing her husband.

The accused, Bontha Ganga has been sentenced for life term imprisonment and also Rs 500 as a penalty. Ganga was married to her husband, Bontha Raju (33) for more than five years and had five children together but only one boy survived as the other four succumbed to illnesses.

A native of Masanpally village, Mothkur Mandal, Mahabubnagar district, Raju worked as a daily wage labourer along with his wife and resided in Suryanagar, Kapra.

Ganga developed an extra-marital relationship with a man named K Srinivas at work.

Upon learning of the illicit relation, Ganga's husband warned her to stay away from Srinivas. The duo instead hatched a plan to kill Raju and strangled him with a saree at their house in October 2016.

Going into details, a case of murder was registered by the Kushaiguda police in 2016 against Ganga and Srinivas, who were arrested and sent to remand. The Hyderabad court convicted Ganga for murdering her husband and directed her to undergo life imprisonment while Srinivas, was acquitted.
