AP Govt Distributes Rs 5 Lakh Ex-gratia To Kin Of Construction Workers      - Sakshi Post

AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh government has distributed ex-gratia of Rs five lakh to each of the families of five construction workers who committed suicide in Guntur district, from Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare fund on Wednesday, November 7.

AP Labour Commissioner G Rekha Rani said that the amount was given to the deceased families from the fund on the instructions of AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The AP State government has said that there is sand scarcity in the state and said that continued flood in major rivers has hampered excavation of sand. The CM has assured that sand shortage will be sorted in the next 10 days and sand availability will be improved.

The AP state government is taking all the necessary steps to tide over the crisis and for avoiding any inconvenience to the labourer who depends on the sand for their livelihood.

Added to that, the AP state government has planned to bring new legislation to regulate and impose strict measures for violations in mining and transport of sand is in the offing to check sand mafia and to regulate the prices.
