KC Narayana School Bus Overturns Near Guntakal, Narrow Escape For Children

Guntakal: In a miraculous escape, forty students of K.C. Narayana English Medium School survived when the school bus overturned at Penchalapadu village in Vidapanakal mandal of Anantapur district on Thursday. The incident took place at 6 pm.

Three students suffered minor injuries and were rushed to a the Guntakal area hospital.

Guntakal police told a leading daily that the bus was carrying 40 students at the time of the accident. The school driver was trying to overtake a lorry on the Guntakal-Vidapanakal road. As the lorry driver did not allow him, he overtook from the wrong side and went off the road margin.

The bus then hurtled down in the nearby fields, 10 feet below the road level and toppled. Passers-by rushed to the rescue of the children.

The driver fled the incident and is absconding.
