Welfarist Agenda: YSRCP Govt Tables Historic Reservation Bill In Assembly

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy speaking in Assembly on Monday - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: In line with its welfarist agenda, the YSRCP government on Monday tabled a bill in the Assembly that provides 75 percent reservation in jobs to locals in industries, 50 percent to women in nominated posts, and 50 percent nominated works and posts would be reserved to SC, ST and minorities.

Describing the bill as a landmark and an historic piece of legislation, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy affirmed that never before had a government gone to such lengths to benefit the poor and the marginalised.

YS Jagan slammed the TDP legislators and Leader of the Opposition N Chandrababu Naidu when they tried to create ruckus when the bill was being tabled. He pointedly asked Chandrababu if his 40 years of political experience which he always wore on his sleeve meant obstructing a piece of legislation that had a potential to bring about a sea change in the lives of poor and the marginalised. People would teach a befitting lesson to the TDP if it did not mend its ways in relation to the downtrodden of the society.
