YS Jagan Launches Farmer’s Day From YSR Kadapa District - Sakshi Post

Jammalamadugu, YSR Kadapa: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy announced here on Monday that July 8th, the birth anniversary of Late Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy would be celebrated as Farmer’s Day across the state. YS Jagan stated that the needs of farmers were close to his father’s heart and that during his time he strove tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of the farmer through a slew of farmer-friendly schemes, including loan waivers, free electricity and providing irrigation water, seeds and fertilizers to the tiller. He said that henceforth, all welfare schemes of the YSRCP government would be delivered at the doorstep of the common man. YS Jagan also said that he felt proud making this announcement from his native district of YSR Kadapa. He also reminded the large audience that he had launched the YSR Pension Kanuka from his home district, hiking the pension of the elderly from Rs 1000 under the TDP government to Rs 2,250 this year. He also pointed out that the disabled would get a pension of Rs 3,000 while dialysis patients would be provided Rs 10,000 as pension. YS Jagan announced that an amount of Rs 5,40,000 crore pending as arrears of pensions were cleared. He added that Village volunteers will ensure that benefits of all welfare schemes including pensions will percolate on a saturation basis to the last individual in the state.

YS Jagan Also Pointed out that the YSRCP government was currently spending thrice as much as the TDP Government spent on pensions to the elderly and the disabled earlier. He also told the huge crowd at the meeting that there would be no Janmabhoomi Committees to harass poor villagers.

Panchayat Raj Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy, Agriculture Minister Kurasala Kannababu, Agriculture Mission Chairman MVS Nagi Reddy and MPs PV Mithun Reddy and YS Avinash Reddy were also present on the occasion.

Here are some of the highlights from Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s address at the Farmer’s Day celebrations:

·Introduction of YSR zero interest loan.

·No interest on crop loans. In YSR Kadapa alone crop loans of more than Rs 1,000 crore were given to farmers in just over one month of assumption of office.

·The YSRCP government gave farmers 9 hours of free power immediately after coming into power, and while 60% feeders were equipped to supply power for 9 hours, 40% needed upgradation at an expenditure of Rs 1,500 crore which was sanctioned immediately.

·As promised during the elections, aqua farmers are being provided Electricity at Rs 150 per unit.

·The entire expense of YSR crop insurance scheme to be borne by the government.

·Groundnut farmers, as promised before the elections, to get Rs 9,000 per acre. Rs 330 crore sanctioned under this scheme.

·After the Kharif Season, the TDP Government should have procured seeds for distribution right from the month of November and had them ready by May. However, despite repeated reminders from officials the Chandrababu Naidu Government failed to do so.

·After coming to power, he YSRCP Government cleared arrears of procurement and supply of seeds to the extent of Rs 384 crores to ensure that farmers do not suffer.

· Input subsidy arrears of 2018 carried over into this year were cleared by the YSRCP government to ease the suffering of farmers.

·Agriculture Mission set up comprising experts to review the agricultural scene in the state and meet the challenges faced by farmers.

·Banana research centre to be set up at Pulivendula.

·The government’s goal is to prevent farmers suicides in every possible way, but in the rare instance of a farmer committing suicide, the collector should personally visit the victims family, accompanied by the local MLA.

·Calamity relief fund of Rs 2,000b crore to be set up to help farmers tide over sudden disasters, natural calamities and drought.

·YSR Raithu Bharosa to be rolled out in May every year, giving each farmer Rs 12,500 would be launched after the Rabi Season on October 15th. Rs 8,750 to be earmarked towards the scheme.

·Rights of tenant farmers will be protected.

·Chennur sugar factory to be opened.

·Cold storage units to be set up.

·Quality seeds and fertilizers to be provided to farmers to ensure high-quality crop yield.

·Price stabilization fund of Rs 3,000 crore to be set up for farmers.

·Rayalaseema and Prakasam to get Godavari water.

·Kundu River project to be completed under the KC canal scheme.

·Gandikota to have a storage capacity of 20 TMC.
