Voters Throng Vijayawada Enrolment Centres To Register Names

Vijayawada: The city of Vijayawada in the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region witnessed a heavy rush of people, mostly youth during the voters enrolment drive. As it was the last day for enrolment, the help centres in Vijayawada were working overtime to register new voters in lieu of the upcoming elections in 2019.
According to reports, more than 1.50 lakh people, of whom a majority were youth, enrolled themselves as voters in Krishna district till Wednesday morning.
Help centres at Satyanarayanapuram, Arundalpeta, Chittinagar, Kothapeta, Madhuranagar, Labbipeta, Wynchipeta, Krishnalanka, Patamata, Machavaram, Gunadala, Durgapuram, Bhavanipuram, Rajarajeswaripeta particularly witnessed a heavy rush in the city.
As part of the enrolment campaign, the Telugu Desam Party, YSR Congress Party Jana Sena and Communist parties have been working in the voter enrolment help centres at various places across the city, in the last few days. The party members helped people locate their names online and also ensured that the youth got enrolled as new voters. The youngsters were also given awareness sessions about their rights as voters and why they should exercise the right to vote at the help centres.
