CAG Report Indicates Huge Scam By Chandrababu, YSRCP Demands CBI Probe

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu - Sakshi Post

Visakhapatnam: YSR Congress party (YSRCP) official spokesperson Ambati Rambabu today said that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu misused Rs 53,000 crores of Central funds. Following Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP GVL Narasimha Rao's accusations on Chandrababu over exploitation of Rs 53,000 crores of funds allotted by the Central government, Ambati demanded a public debate over the usage of funds and also called for a CBI investigation into the issue.

Earlier in the day, the BJP MP quoted a recent report from the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, which suggested that Rs 53,039 crores meant for spending on various central schemes went missing. The funds were diverted to around 58,000 Personal Deposit Accounts, and Chandrababu has to answer on what purposes the money was spent on, he demanded.

In the report, the CAG pointed out that the State government had drawn Rs 55,497 crores at the end of 2016-17 from the the PDAs in advance without stating the purpose of withdrawal.

Speaking to media at the party office here, Ambati said that the CAG report exposed a huge scandal. "The BJP leaders said that if a CBI investigation was carried out on Chandrababu, he would definitely go to jail. But, why doesn't the BJP impose a CBI trial on the misuse of funds?" he questioned.

Ambati criticized that the TDP and BJP leaders were only interested in laying allegations against each other but are not bothered about exposing the truth.
