YS Jagan Mohan Reddy - Sakshi Post

Guntur: Demanding minimum prices for the agriculture produce YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will launch a deeksha at Nallapadu in Guntur district on May 1 and 2. The party is making huge arrangements for the deeksha to ensure large participation by the farmers.

Speaking on the occasion, the YSR Congress leaders alleged that the Telugu Desam government failed to safeguard the interests of chilli farmers following slump in the prices from Rs14,000 per quintal last year to Rs4,000 per quintal this season. Due to the unfair price of mirchi, farmers ransacked the office at mirchi yard and demanded for the minimum price. Some farmers committed suicide over the unfair price. YS Jagan visited Guntur mirchi yard and enquired about the problems faced by farmers.

Moving on the suicide of the farmers Jagan has decided to sit in deeksha to exert pressure on the government.

YSRCP leaders also appealed to farmers and party activists to make the protest programme a big success.
