Inter Supplementary Exams Postponed

Hyderabad: The Telangana Intermediate advanced supplementary exams have been postponed due to ongoing mess surrounding the declaration of results by the Board.

According to the new schedule released by the Board on Sunday, the advanced supplementary exams (theory) will held between May 25 and June 2 as against May 16 when these exams are supposed to begin. The practical exams will be conducted between June 7 and June 10, Board of Intermediate Secretary Ashok said in a statement issued on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the Board has begun re-evaluation process look into irregularities that have taken place in evaluating and declaration of results earlier. The re-evaluation process is expected to be completed in another 15 days.

The results declared by Telangana Intermediate Board have snowballed into major controversy with numerous discrepancies declaring many students as ‘failed’. Many students who did not expect to fail were shocked to see themselves declared ‘failed’. They plunged into depression and committed suicide. As many as 20 students ended their lives in the last two weeks. The issue spiraled into a major controversy as opposition parties slammed the government for its incompetence and corruption.
