Hyderabad: TSRTC Bus Stolen From Central Bus Station

Hyderabad: In an unusual turn of events, a bus belonging to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) was stolen from Hyderabad's Central Bus Station (CBS) on Wednesday.

The bus, belonged to the Kushaiguda depot, shuttling the 3K route between Gowliguda and ECIL. The RTC bus driver parked the bus at the station in Hyderabad on Tuesday night. Both the driver and conductor slept in the restroom. The next morning, they woke up around 5 am to realize that the bus was missing.

The driver began searching for the bus and even verified with other drivers with the schedule assuming that another driver had driven off with the bus. When the superiors were alerted on the incident, they filed a complaint at the Afzalgunj police station and the police registered a case under Section 379 of IPC.

The police visited the bus station and analyzed the CCTV footage to identify the accused. As per the footage, the bus was identified to have crossed the Toopran tollgate during the midnight hours of Tuesday. The police suspect that the vehicle is headed towards Nanded and are looking for further leads.

The bus reportedly has clocked 8 lakh km and could be started with a starter switch instead of a key ignition. Meanwhile, the TSRTC has notified the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in case the accused attempts to drive the vehicle on any of the state or national highways in Telangana.
