Erraballi Faces Ire Of Jagtial Villagers

Villagers Blocked The Ministers Way - Sakshi Post

Jagtial: Panchayat Raj minister Erraballi Dayakar Rao and welfare minister Koppula Eshwar were waylaid by villagers while on their visit to Kodimyala Mandal to promote a 30-day action plan, demanding justice for Kondagattu bus accident victims and the issue of water supply for irrigation.

Villagers of Himmatraopet, Ramsagar, Shanivarpeta and Kurmaipally blocked the ministers way and staged dharna here on Friday. Villagers blocked the road for nearly 30 minutes and demanded that the government fulfill its assurances.

The villagers told the ministers that though Godavari water from Yellampalli reservoir is flowing to neighboring villages, they were not being supplied the same to meet their irrigation needs which were mainly due to negligence of officials supervising the construction of the canal. They demanded that the construction of the canal should be completed as soon as possible so that their villages too get irrigation water from Yellampalli reservoir.

They also demanded to help the victims of Kondagattu bus accidents which took place last year, by helping them financially along with government jobs to one family member of each of the victims.

Rao, Eshwar and MLA S Ravishankar assured the villagers that they would take up these issues with Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and get them solved as soon as possible.
