Security Measures for Possible Convoy Route of Prime Minister

Hyderabad: The city police are implementing a series of security measures, in coordination with central agencies, for the first visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the state.

Restrictions will be imposed and security tightened on all roads leading to LB Stadium, the city police said.

Public places around Hussian Sagar such as Necklace road, Lumbini Park, NTR Gardens and roads leading to LB Stadium will be either restricted or declared off-limits on August 7. Senior police officials state that the convoy route of the Prime Minister is yet to be confirmed and traffic restrictions will come into force after that.
As per laid down procedures, there are several layers of security during the Prime Minister’s visit. However, it is the Special Protection Group (SPG) which decides the convoy route and other security aspects prior to the visit.
