Rajini Clarifies He Isn’t Supporting BJP 

Superstar Rajinikanth on Thursday said he has no plans to extend support to any party in the forthcoming crucial RK Nagar bypoll in Tamil Nadu.

"My support is for no one in the coming elections," Rajinikanth tweeted. Earlier this week, when popular composer and BJP candidate Gangai Amaran called on Rajinikanth, reports started doing the rounds that the 66-year-old star was supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led party. The April 12 contest will be held to fill the vacancy caused by the death of J. Jayalalithaa, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. On the career front, the actor is busy wrapping up shoot of upcoming Tamil science-fiction magnum opus "2.o". -

Meanwhile, Rajinikanth will hand over keys to 150 homes built for Tamils by Gnanam Foundation on April 9 in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, according to a statement released by Lyca Productions.

As part of his visit, Rajinikanth is also expected to speak at a public meeting and plant tree saplings. Following the civil war in 2009, the foundation has been working extensively in key parts of Sri Lanka to rebuild roads and schools. The homes have been built for displaced Tamils in Sri Lanka. Rajinikanth's upcoming Tamil science-fiction action film "2.o" is being bankrolled by Lyca Productions.
