Hyderabad Socialite Arrested in Cheating Case

Hyderabad police arrested socialite Tella Shilpa alias Shilpa Chowdary and her husband Tella Krishna Srinivas Prasad in connection with a cheating case. According to the police, the couple has been living in a villa in Gandipet. Shilpa used to conduct kitty parties and made the people believe that she is doing real estate business. She said that she would give shares from the profits she earned and if she doesn't get any profit then she would pay interest for the invested money. She also made people believe that she has contacts with big stars in the film industry. Shilpa and Krishna have allegedly cheated a few people in the name of giving high interest on their investment into the real estate business.

Police arrested the couple after a case was registered against them at the Narsingi police station under the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate.

Victim Divya and her husband Pradeep Reddy filed a complaint in the Narsingi police station on October 13. After investigation, Shilpa and Srinivas have been arrested and cases have been booked under 406, 420, 341, 506 sections. A-3 and A-4 are absconding. Rajendra Nagar Metropolitan Magistrate issued orders stating that the prime accused should be kept under judicial remand for 14 days. The court dismissed the bail petition.

Police filed a petition seeking the custody of the two accused of further investigation. The case was adjourned to Monday. Police said that some of the close friends of the individuals from the film industry are suspected to be the victims of the couple's misdeeds.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, M Venkateshwarlu said that they will interrogate the couple for more information. It is said that the couple had taken Rs. 5 to 6 crore from some people.
