Heavy Rains in Hyderabad to Continue as IMD Sounds Orange Alert

Telangana has been witnessing non-stop rains from Tuesday night. The downpour has thrown life out of gear by inundating several low-lying areas of the city, causing power outages and water stagnation

The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for Hyderabad and issued a red alert for Telangana by. The IMD forecast states that there will be heavy rains till Saturday. The IMD released a weather bulletin at 1 pm on Thursday and warned of moderate to heavy thudershowers in the city along with gusty winds.

Several areas of the city, including Serilingampally, Asifnagar, Uppal, Kukatpally, Charminar, Balanagar, and Kapra, received moderate rainfall ranging from 10 mm to 15 mm until Thursday afternoon. With 18.8 mm of rain, the area near Government Boys High School in Kurmaguda received the most.

Hyderabad's temperatures have also dropped as a result of the incessant rain. IMD recorded the highest maximum temperature of 23.2 degrees Celsius, which is at least 6 degrees lower than the average. According to IMD, heavy to extremely heavy rains are expected in several districts across the state, including Bhadradri Kothagudem, Mulugu, Jagtial, Kumurambheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Peddapally, and Jayashankar Bhupalpally.
