CNG Prices Increased Again, Hyderabad Rate Reaches Rs 100

The Central Government has once again increased CNG prices, delivering another blow to vehicle owners already struggling with rising fuel expenses. In the latest revision, the price of compressed natural gas (CNG) has been increased by Rs 1 per kilogram. This comes just two days after an earlier hike of Rs 2 per kg linked to the recent increase in petrol and diesel prices.

With the latest revision, CNG prices have now gone up by a total of Rs 3 within a span of just two days, leaving auto drivers, cab operators and private vehicle owners frustrated over the continuous burden of fuel costs.

Following the latest increase, the price of CNG in New Delhi has reached Rs 80.09 per kg, while in Mumbai it has climbed to Rs 84.09. In Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, the revised rate now stands at Rs 88.70 per kg. Meanwhile, in Hyderabad, CNG prices have touched the Rs 100 mark, creating fresh concerns among commuters and transport workers.

Hyderabad Facing CNG Shortage Crisis

Along with rising prices, Hyderabad has also been dealing with a severe shortage of CNG supply for the past six months. Several fuel stations across the city are reportedly displaying “No Stock” boards due to insufficient gas availability, causing long waiting times and inconvenience for motorists.

Many drivers had earlier shifted from petrol and diesel vehicles to CNG because of its lower running cost, better mileage and eco-friendly nature. Vehicle owners also spent money converting their vehicles to CNG-compatible fuel systems expecting long-term savings.

However, the recent surge in prices combined with supply shortages has now left many questioning the affordability and reliability of CNG fuel.

Auto Drivers Demand Government Intervention

Auto-rickshaw drivers and transport operators say the fuel crisis is directly affecting their daily income. With frequent shortages and increasing fuel prices, many are struggling to manage operational costs.

Drivers are now urging the government to take immediate steps to improve CNG supply and stabilize prices. They argue that without proper intervention, both public transport operators and ordinary commuters will continue to face financial pressure.

The latest hike has also triggered debates over fuel pricing policies as consumers across several cities continue to experience rising transportation expenses.
