June 1 Bank Holiday or not in India?

 - Sakshi Post

Many bank customers are wondering whether banks will remain closed on June 1, 2026. The good news is that there is no bank holiday scheduled on this date, and banking services will function normally across India.

June 1 falls on a Monday and is a regular working day. Since there are no national holidays, regional festivals, or special observances notified by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) for that day, banks will remain open for business.

Customers can visit bank branches for routine transactions, including cash deposits, withdrawals, cheque clearances, loan-related services, account opening, and other banking activities.

No RBI-Declared Holiday on June 1

According to the RBI's holiday calendar, June 1, 2026, is not listed as a bank holiday in any state or union territory. Therefore, public and private sector banks are expected to operate as usual.

Online banking services, UPI payments, mobile banking apps, internet banking, and ATM services will also continue without interruption.

Next Bank Holiday in June 2026

The first major bank holiday in June 2026 is scheduled for June 15 in selected states. Banks in Mizoram will remain closed for YMA Day, while banks in Odisha will observe Raja Sankranti.

Later in the month, banks in several states will remain closed on June 25 and June 26 due to Muharram-related observances.

Plan Your Banking Activities

Since June 1 is a normal business day, customers can carry out all banking transactions without any restrictions. However, it is always advisable to check local holiday schedules for state-specific closures later in the month.

For those planning branch visits, there is no need to worry about closures on June 1, as banks across the country are expected to remain fully operational.
