Janhvi Eyes Samantha’s Rangasthalam-Level Impact With Peddi

 - Sakshi Post

The recently released trailer of Peddi has created strong buzz among movie lovers and fans of Ram Charan. Along with the action and sports drama elements, one thing that grabbed attention is Janhvi Kapoor’s rural character in the film.

After watching the trailer, many viewers started comparing Janhvi’s role with Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s iconic performance in Rangasthalam. Samantha’s role as Ramalakshmi became hugely popular because of her natural acting, village slang, and emotional connection with audiences. Because Peddi also has a rural backdrop, comparisons became unavoidable.

In the trailer, Janhvi Kapoor appears in a traditional village look and shares emotional scenes with Ram Charan. Many fans appreciated her effort to fit into the rustic character and praised her screen presence. Some viewers feel she looks fresh in the role and believe the film could become a major turning point in her South Indian career.

However, not everyone is fully convinced yet. A section of social media users feel Samantha’s performance in Rangasthalam set a very high standard and believe Janhvi still needs stronger dialogue delivery and emotional depth to match that impact. Discussions on Reddit and social media platforms show mixed opinions about whether she completely suits the village character.

Director Buchi Babu Sana has been heavily promoting the film and expressing confidence about the emotional strength of the story. The movie combines sports, action, romance, and village drama on a large scale. Music for the film is composed by A. R. Rahman.

Apart from Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, the film also stars Shiva Rajkumar, Jagapathi Babu, Divyenndu Sharma, and Boman Irani in key roles. The movie is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on June 4, 2026.
