HYDERABAD: Producers and big wigs of Tollywood got together and met at the home of megastar Chiranjeevi on Sunday. As per sources senior producers and actors met to discuss various issues related to the film industry with respect to the ticket prices in the State of Andhra Pradesh. In this context they have reportedly recently sought the appointment of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and the meeting was to discuss the way forward with regards to this and several other issues.

The meeting was attended by actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, producers Allu Aravind, Daggubati Suresh Babu, Dil Raju, Maitri Movies producer Ravi Prasad and others. The meeting which commenced at 5 PM lasted for more than three hours. They discussed issues about the wages for cinema workers, theater workers, electricity tariff rates, ticket rates at B, C centers in the State.

The first and second of Coronavirus pandemic has badly affected the movie industry in both the Telugu states. Even as theatres opened up, Telugu film producers and distributors are worried over the stalemate on ticket prices in theatres in Andhra Pradesh.

The Andhra Pradesh Government recently denied permission as tickets of Rs 150 were to be sold at Rs 1000 in the name of benefit shows and reminded about the AP Cinematography Act, which allows only four shows per day starting 11 AM. It was done as per regulations and check the over-inflated pricing of the tickets. The Government issued  GO MS No. 35 which fixed ticket prices in film theatres based on location and amenities offered.
