Here's Why Vijay Deverakonda is Not Keen on Working with Debut Directors

 - Sakshi Post

Actor Vijay Deverakonda has made it clear - he is not interested in working with debutant directors anymore. During recent promotions for his upcoming film Family Star, he stated he now only wants to collaborate with directors who have prior experience.

"No, I don't work with debutants now. At least they need to be one film old," Vijay told an interviewer. He explained that it's an immense challenge for newcomers handling the pressures of budget, scale, and overall set management straight out of the gate. He believes first-time directors need that initial "practice match and warm-up" experience before taking on larger projects. "When they do one film, it will help them get into the groove," he said.

The Arjun Reddy star went so far as to say, "I need my directors to be fully ready to exploit me. I don't want to work with debutants." Even with directors one film old, Vijay critically assesses factors like music sense, editing, and visual storytelling approach before signing on.

While promoting Family Star with co-star Mrunal Thakur, Vijay expressed wanting a love marriage and to "become a father." However, he noted only marrying someone approved by his parents amid relationship rumors with Rashmika Mandanna.

Vijay's latest film Family Star, directed by Parasuram, releases on April 5th in theaters. The movie marks Vijay's first simultaneous release in Tamil along with the Telugu original.
