Adah Sharma Defends Film Choices Amidst Trolling

 - Sakshi Post

Talented actress Adah Sharma recently broke her silence on the trolling she has faced, particularly regarding her role in the movie "Bastar." She expressed her frustration at being called out for her film choices.

Known for her diverse roles in the film industry, Adah initially started her career with horror movies. Her popularity amongst the Telugu audience rose with the movie "Heart Attack." Despite shining in films like "Son of Satyamurthy," "Subrahmanyam for Sale," and "Kalki," she struggled to achieve the status of a star heroine in the Telugu film industry.

Transitioning to Hindi cinema, Adah continued to make a mark with her performances in films like "The Kerala Story" and "Bastar: The Naxal Story." However, her involvement in controversial movies led to increased trolling and criticism from certain sections of the audience. Recently, she addressed the trolling she faced over her film choices.

"The director of the 'Bastar' did not want me to look like a sensitive girl. He aimed for me to maintain a tough image, like a man in the forest armed and strong. I wasn't present in the initial poster. There was a picture of a forest with the title “Bastar”. However, certain groups started criticizing the movie even before its release," she said.

Despite the backlash, Adah Sharma emphasized her right to choose the roles she plays and defended her work in the face of criticism. "Before the movie's release, I was subjected to relentless trolling. I did not even know how to react. If you want to criticize the movie without seeing it, go ahead. You have the right to express your opinions, just like we have the right to make the movies we want. Some people went as far as trolling every post I made, even calling me a 'prostitute,” she said.

While Adah’s film "Bastar" was released on March 15, it faced challenges in garnering box office success.
