Mother's Happiness Over Daughter's Arrival For Ashadam Ends in Tragedy

In a tragic incident, a pregnant woman committed suicide at her parents’ house as she was forcefully married against her wish in Mahabubabad district of Telangana. According to the police, Chukka Saramma married her daughter Ramya to Venkanna of Khammam district five months ago. When Ramya refused to marry him, Saramma convinced her saying she can study even after marriage.

A week ago, Saramma brought her daughter to her house as part of Aashaadam ritual. Ramya told her mother that she is three months pregnant and said that she is not able to study at her in-law’s house.

Ramya also went through some medical tests at the Area Hospital on Thursday. As Saramma was a ration dealer, she went to distribute rice to the people. Meanwhile, Ramya, who was depressed, after reaching home committed suicide by hanging herself to the fan.

After returning from the ration shop, Saramma was shocked to learn that Ramya had committed suicide and immediately informed the police. Police registered a case against the incident as per Saramma’s complaint and launched an investigation.
