Major Fire Mishap At Bazar Ghat, 9 Dead

In a tragic incident, a major fire mishap took place at an apartment at Nampally's Bazar Ghat, Hyderabad. According to reports, at least nine people were killed in the accident including a girl child and an IIT Student. Seven others were severely injured in the mishap. About 21 people were rescued by the fire department officials.

An explosion in the apartment's cellar resulted in the mishap. It is learnt that the incident was caused when a car was being repaired in the cellar and the fire spread to the nearby diesel drums on the ground floor and they exploded. The fire spread to the entire four-storeyed building. Vehicles including cars and bikes were gutted in fire.

Fire brigade officials have stepped in and tried to control the fire. Seven fire tenders have been deployed to bring down the flames. As per reports, the number of deaths and injuries could be increased. The tragedy took place just hours after the Diwali festival on Sunday. Officials are probing the incident.
