AP Govt Offers 3 Lakh Ex-gratia For Families Of Repalle Accident Victims

Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Saturday expressed shock over the death of six Odisha laborers in the fire at Lankevanidibba in Repalle Mandal of Guntur District.

The Chief Minister directed the authorities to pay compensation of Rs 3 lakh each to the families of the deceased workers, as they have come all the way from Odisha for survival and lost their lives in a tragic accident.

Further, the Chief Minister instructed the officials to ensure that the management of the shrimp farms pays adequate compensation to the families of the deceased.

Rajya Sabha YSRCP MP Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao and Guntur District Collector Vivek Yadav handed over the cheques to the families of the deceased. Rs 5 lakh was provided on behalf of the owners of the aquafarms where they were working. On the other hand, the Odisha government has also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh per family. MLA Meruga Nagarjuna,  Odisha  Gonpur MLA Raghunath Gumengo  and  Odisha student leader B. Vishnu Prasad Panda and others were present on the occasion.
