Harithaharam gets tremendous response from people, celebrities

Hyderabad: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao called on political leaders, governments servants and people to take-up planting of saplings on a war-footing and make the Harithaharam programme a huge success.

In a press release here on Monday, the chief minister said, “it is the responsibility of those who plant saplings to take of them to take care of them and ensure their proper growth.” He called on officials to make sure that pavements, government lands, both sides of highways, colleges and government office lands are utilised to plant saplings.
An awareness must be created on the need to plant saplings and greenery, he said.

While chief minister K Chandrasekhar launched the programme, political leaders cutting across party lines participated in the programme held at various venues across the state.

While Movie Artists Association (MAA) president Rajendra Prasad participated in a programme held in the city and planted saplings, other prominent stars also took part. Prominent film personalities including Daggubati Rana, Allu Arjun, Rakul Preet Singh, Raasi Khanna, Amala, Nagarjuna and megastar Chiranjeevi took part in the programme held at different places in the state.
