Mathura Guide, Accomplice Gang rape NRI Temple Tourist

Mathura: An NRI woman tourist who was on a visit to the temple town of Mathura with her uncle and aunt,was gangraped by a guide named Monu and his friend Vishnu on Monday. The victim's friend filed a police complaint and the police arrested both the accused.

The victim, who is in her twenties, is an NRI settled in South Africa and had come to Vrindavan town of Mathura district in Uttar Pradesh . She was staying at a guest house near the ISKCON temple along with her uncle and aunt for the past couple of days. The victim had gone to visit the Gokul area ,which is 15 km south-east of Mathura to see a Krishna Temple and was allegedly gang raped by the accused in a massage parlour run by Vishnu.

A case was registered by Deependra Singh, the in-charge of Mahawan police station in Mathura, based on the complaint lodged by a friend of the victim. But when asked to go for a medical examination she refused, putting the police in a tight situation. Deependra Singh said the victim was not ready to complain or go for a medical examination and also complained of complications after which she was taken to the hospital for treatment.
