Baahubali Frenzy: Fake Online Websites Make A Fast Buck

Whenever a movie of a star hero hits the screens, there will be a huge hype. And Bahubabi-2 is no exception. Bahubabi- The Conclusion premier show tickets are selling at a premium price of Rs 3,000 at several places.

Usually, the ticket prices range between Rs 300 and Rs 600 based on the amenities and the combo offers provided. In some cases, websites caste and the standing of the hero decides the ticket fares.

With the multiplexes and theatres charging exorbitantly for Bahubali screening, it has become a burden for common man, who is forced to shell out huge money to secure a ticket.

A middle income group family needs to spend at least four times more for Bahubali than what they usually spend for other movies. Hype through television advertisements, social media blogging, news reports — are adding grist to Bahubali mill by each passing minute.

Cashing this frenzy, some online fraudsters are duping people with duplicate ticket booking websites. So far, organisers of Asian Cinema Management alone have the rights to sell Bahubali tickets online. However, cyber fraudsters in Dubai have started selling fake tickets online through various websites and portals. The crime came to light two days ago when the offenders were selling tickets in the name of multiplexes and theatres in Telugu states and other cities. Those who booked tickets had also received a SMS to their cellphones.

Another website – newtickets.in too duped several fans by selling all first-show tickets in the first week. The victims were shocked to find that the messages received were fraud. Following the complaints lodged by Asian Cinema management, the Cyber police blocked the websites and registered cases against the offenders under the Cyber laws.
