YSRCP Leaders Meet Union Minister, Seek Central Aid For Upliftment Of BCs

New Delhi: Senior YSR Congress Party leaders and MPs, V. Vijay Sai Reddy and Mithun Reddy and AP Minister for BC Welfare, met Union Minister for Social Justice Thawar Chand Gehlot on Wednesday. They apprised the minister of the state of BCs and pointed out that BC groups constituted more than 50% of the population in Andhra Pradesh.

The senior party leaders and minister also said that 80% of the BCs were below poverty line. Hence, the new government headed by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy undertook several steps for the upliftment of BC communities in the state, they said. The leaders also sought Central government assistance under National Backward Classes Finance And Development Corporation (NBCFDC) to help the YSRCP government ameliorate the condition of BCs in the state.
