Bye Bye Babu, Echoes Through AP As Campaign Ends

Rounding off the high voltage electioneering with the slogan "Bye, Bye Babu", YSR Congress appealed to the people to vote for the fan symbol to usher in change in the form of a credible, responsive and committed governance thus bringing down curtains on the five-year term of Chandrababu, littered with cheating, opportunism, nepotism and conspiracy.

The April 11 election is a fight between credibility and opportunism, the Party said. The YSRCP asked the masses to use their discretion to ease out the ruling dispensation which has worked for the welfare of its leaders and coterie while remaining indifferent to all others.

The Navaratnas promised by YSRCP will be delivered at the doorsteps through decentralised governance to benefit all sections of society. The party made it clear that it had never tied up with any political party and fought the battle alone in 2014 as well as 2019. On both occasions, its promise was to bring back the glory of Rajanna Rajyam.

It is Chandababu Naidu who always needed electoral crutches as he cannot contest on his own. This was the reason why he usurped the Party and government nurtured by NTR, leaned on BJP, joined hands with Left, crawled back to NDA and has now hugged Congress and numerous other parties, the YSRCP said. He and his actor partner are playing theatrics by not crossing paths and are helping each other in every possible way.

The TDP leadership has been importing leaders and has tacit understanding with all and sundry which shows that Chandrababu has conceded defeat even before the battle has began. While jackals come in a pack, a lion always comes alone was the slogan which drew huge rounds of applause from the crowd at various places. None of the 'imported' leaders could give an assurance on Special Category Status (SCS), the YSRCP pointed out, while KCR had extended full support for the cause.

The YSRCP firmly declared that it would support any dispensation that gives us the state a written assurance of giving Special Category Status (SCS). The matter was politicised by Chandrababu Naidu who first rejected it in favour of Special Package. The TDP chief foiled the YSRCP's repeated bids to raise the issue at various forums and dharnas. Chandrababu passed a resolution in the assembly praising the Centre for the package and suddenly took a U-turn after pulling out of the NDA.

The YSRCP MPs were the first to move a no-confidence motion against NDA and quit the Lok Sabha demanding SCS.

Chandrababu has failed in fulfilling every single promise starting from the total waiver of loans to farmers and women groups, employment, stipend, closure of belt shops, providing mineral water, housing to the poor besides over 600 others included in the manifesto which disappeared from the Party website for obvious reasons, the YSRCP said.

Chandrababu has failed on all fronts and worked for the welfare of contractors and his coterie for kickbacks. The the capital area region was one of the biggest scams of his term, the YSRCP pointed out.

Farmers’ loans were not waived and it was shrunk to the maximum and a pittance given which was far less than the interest. The same is the case with women groups. It was Chandrababu Naidu who has scrapped the zero per cent interest scheme and women groups had paid lakhs of ruppees as interest. He has now come up with Pasupu Kunkuma giving just crumbs and a small fraction of what they shelled down earlier to the banks as interest. Same is the case with Annadata Sukhibhava, the YSRCP said.

The YSRCP, on the other hand, promises to pay seed capital, provide input subsidy and give guarantee for MSP besides setting up of Market Stabilisation Fund and Natural Calamities Fund. Weavers and other artisans will be given pension and Corporations would be set up for all castes.

Loan amount of women groups till elections will be given to them directly and zero per cent interest would be revived. Women belonging to weaker sections will be getting Rs 75, 000 in four instalments under YSR Cheyutha and Rs 15,000 would be deposited in the bank account of mother for send her two children to school. Fees reimbursement will be implemented in full and an addition amount will be given towards hostel and mess charges. Employment would be created locally by setting up of Village Secretariats which will effectively deliver the Navaratnas at the doorstep. Locals will be given 75% reservations.

YS Jagan appealed to the voters not to be carried away by falsehoods. "With elections just two days away, the conspirators will try many tricks and the media will come out with numerous falsehoods like the one it has spread that I went to the Tirumala wearing slippers which is against the custom while in fact I climbed all the steps barefoot as a reverence to the Lord. The actor partner of Chandrababu was the person who walked the way up with shoes on and his friendly media has been spreading canards against us and our senior leader V Vijaysai Reddy. The media will be agog with such rumours, fake news and false surveys which would be floated by the ruling party for selfish agenda which need not be taken seriously. I appeal you to brush them away use your discretion and vote for fan symbol on April 11 to bring back YSR golden era, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said at the concluding meeting at the temple town of Tirupati with a prayer for SCS.
