Here's a look:

1. Anantapur Lok Sabha Constituency:

The Anantapur Lok Sabha constituency is one of the 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh. Situated in Anantapur district, the constituency is located in an economically backward region of the state. Maoist activity has also acted as a speed breaker to the region’s economic growth.

As per the estimates of 2011 census, out of total 20,57,443 population 66.26% is rural and 33.74% is urban population. The Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) ratio are 14.9 and 2.98, respectively out of total population.

Candidates from the Constituency:

TDP: The party has fielded J C Pavan Reddy, son of sitting MP JC Diwakar Reddy. In the 2014 elections, Diwakar Reddy defeated Anantha Venkatarami Reddy of YSRCP by 61,269 votes. Over the years, JC Diwakar Reddy has become a controversial figure and has been the eye of many a storm. The seething resentment against the TDP in the district is attributed in a large measure to the strong arm methods of the JC brothers.

YSRCP: Talari Rangaiah, face of YSRCP in the segment is a former District Rural Development Agency (DRDA) Project Director, who took voluntary retirement to join politics. He is widely seen to be the tide turner. Popularly, known as PD (project director ) Rangaiah, he is the first generation from his family to enter politics and has about over 20 years of experience on the field and with the masses.

The BJP and Jana Sena are not serious contenders here.

The Jana Sena Party has fielded D Jagadish for the polls while the BJP has put up Hamsa Devineni. The Congress which has lost much of its clout has fielded K Rajeev Reddy.

2. Hindupur Lok Sabha Constituency:

Hindupur is one of 25 Lok Sabha constituencies in Andhra Pradesh and has traditionally been dominated by Congress. The party had to form an alliance with the TDP since 1991 in the seat.

Candidates from the Constituency:

A former CI who left government service to join politics the TDP tried every trick in the book to block YSRCP candidate Kuruva Gorantla Madhav’s nomination as Hindupur MP candidate. Madhav however went to the state Tribunal which gave its verdict in his favour. The High Court later upheld the Tribunal order. After a lot of drama needlessly forced on him by the TDP establishment, Gorantla Madhav who stood up to JC Diwakar Reddy and his followers as a police officer, filed his nomination. He is tipped to be the likely winner here.

TDP: The party has fielded Kristappa Nimmala while the Congress, whose influence here has waned considerably, has put up Kamaganahalli Thippeswamy Sreedhar, also known as K T Sreedhar.
