Mahakutami Will Be A Thorn In TDP Flesh

AICC president Rahul Gandhi and AP CM Chandrababu Naidu - Sakshi Post

Vijayawada: The TDP-Congress Alliance may actually turn out to be a thorn in the flesh for Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

According to a local YSRCP leader, the CM might end up facing rebel trouble within the TDP-Congress poll alliance in at least 40 seats. The problem will start when the actual distribution of tickets begin among some of the aspirants who left the YSRCP  (who are more than 20 in number) and joined the TDP on the assurance of a nomination and the Congress aspirants who are also being assured of a ticket for the upcoming polls as part of the Grand Alliance.

With 40 being a sizable number the YSRCP cadre predict that in the  calculations of a shift of vote banks among both the parties in the upcoming polls is that the TDP is set to face rebel trouble in at least 30 to 40 seats.

The Andhra Pradesh Elections will witness a closely fought election, between the YSRCP, Jana Sena and TDP-Congress alliance. And the seat sharing ratio where the Congress aspirants might get some seats might anger some of the aspiring TDP contestants who are also seeking tickets for the same if they are sidelined.

Even if the aspirants are assured of a compensation in the form of nominated posts which again are based on recommendation and lobbying, pacifying these leaders will prove to be the toughest task for Chandrababu. There is every possibility of these leaders working against the party prospects and damage the chances of the Congress allied candidates in winning which will impact the overall votes tally in favour of the TDP.

Another bone of contention which the YSRCP leaders are foretelling is that Chandrababu was hoping for an increase in number of Assembly constituencies as part of the AP Reorganisation Act proposal. But this  was rejected by the Centre under Prime Minster Modi upsetting his calculations of a direct win and with his Congress Alliance there is every chance of the loyal TDP aspirants causing trouble for those who have defected from the YSRCP to the TDP in hope for a ticket as Naidu had promised tickets to all those who left YSRCP.

Now, it is to be seen as to how Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu will solve the linear equation to ensure that his loyal TDP cadre stay happy and the dissident YSRCP turned TDP hopeful aspirants continue in the party to ensure TDP’s win in the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Elections in 2019.
